    Lake Mburo National Park is about 230 kilometers by road from Kampala city and it will take you about 4-5 hours of scenic driving to get to this safari destination. It is Uganda’s smallest savannah national park.

Get a car with a large window for clear visibility, a car with air conditioning for comfort especially in the dry season where temperatures can rise up to 30oC, and an open roof for excellent game viewing experiences. Remember that the demand for Safari Vehicles is normally high during peak months- between June and September or December to February.

    Documentation before hiring the car to Lake Mburo National Park

    Before hiring a Car to Lake Mburo National Park, make sure that you have the basic documentation that includes a valid driver’s License, your Passport for International visitors/or a National ID for East African residents, and an International Driver’s permit.

    Remember to always keep left when driving to Lake Mburo National Park or any other part of the country. Unlike what you are used to, Uganda is one of the few places where you have to drive on the left-hand side of the road.

    Type of Cars to hire to Lake Mburo National Park

    Follow the speed limit at all times.

    The speed limit will depend on where you are driving. For highways, the speed limit is as high as 100 kilometers per hour while for urban areas and trading centers, it is 50 kilometers per hour and below.

    When driving in Lake Mburo National Park, the speed limit is 40 kilometers per hour, but you can even go slower when you sight different wildlife species of special interest. Besides the speed limit, there are a number of other park rules and regulations to be followed and these include not getting out of the car during a game safari drive because it is risky. Not hooting while driving through the park, no littering, and no off-track driving because it comes with fines/penalties.
