    Lake Mburo sport fishing is one of the most enjoyed tourist activities in Lake Mburo National Park, with more than 6 species of fish being caught. The unique magical park is located in the western part of Uganda. It’s the country’s smallest savannah park covering an area of 370 sqkm, with very rich diversity. As a result, this makes it a habitat to many wildlife species and over 350 bird species.

    Lake Mburo National Park has got five (5) lakes inside and this makes it a total of over 12 lakes within the general area of the park. Lake Mburo is the largest of all the lakes within the area.

    Neighboring community members are allowed, with permits, to enter the park and carry out fishing as well as visitors.

    Visitors are encouraged to carry their own fishing gear to be used during Lake Mburo fishing exercise and obtain a fishing permit from the park headquarters.

    Securing Lake Mburo Sport Fishing Gear

    Visitors can plan their fishing lessons and gear with the help of their tour operator or lodge staff, making them set for their fishing activities during day.

    If you cannot be able to secure the fishing gear for yourself, your tour operator can make arrangements to hire it, at a friendly cost. Get a complete fishing gear, so as to be able to experience the best of sport fishing in Lake Mburo.

    The main designated fishing spots are at Mazinga, and tourists are advised not to cross the fishing boundaries. It’s generally safe along Lake Mburo and you don’t have to worry about the hippos and crocodiles. Your local guide will help you in the direction of where about to stage your fishing area.

    There is also a nearby restaurant near the lake where tourists can relax and chill after fishing. The fish caught can be prepared at your respective lodges for dinner or campfire. Tilapia is the most common fish specie caught here.
